Sights of PapaAmong Hungarian towns that breathe a historical atmosphere, Papa is one of the finest examples of the Baroque. Its golden age was in the 1700s, when it fell into the hands of the Esterházy family. That was when its Main Square, the small streets leading off it and their houses and, later, the Esterházy mansion were built. The buildings, successfully cared for, add their baroque splendour to the events that are held annuallly among them: the Saint Geroge’s Day Agroexpo, the International Toy Festival, The Historic Equestrian Games and the Somló Wine Festival.
