The Bakony-Hills with their vast trackless forests, the flatland of Kisalföld and the gentle slopes of Kemenesalja … Out town was developed around the meeting point of these three regions, and thanks to the favourable position of the neighbourhood it provides extremely diverse hunting opportunities for the lovers of this noble passion. The forests of this area are excellent habitat for the noblest game of Hungary, the red deer. The majority of the belling period begins in mid September and last till the end of the month at most. Each year there are few trophies over 12 kg.

The most commonly seen big game is deer. It can find excellent living conditions everywhere in our neighbourhood in agricultural areas speckled with smaller-bigger woods or alleys.

The Bakony has been famous for its boar-beating for many centuries. The beatings of Ugod and the hunters, who planned and organised these in an exemplary way, have been mentioned in countless hunter writers’ books with words of warm appreciation.

On the flatland areas there is an increasing number of stock of pheasants and hares. On the hunting areas of Kisalföld with suitable condition there have been successful attempts to increase again the stock of partridge, which was once high in numbers, through artificial displacement. Water habitats and the hibernacula of wild-geese provide water-game hunters with opportunities for hunting.
